infected with downloader.zlob

I use AVG and I get a message about a trojan called downloader.zlob, which I can't remove. I tried with programs like spybot etc but I wasn't able to clean my pc. On the other hand, I get messages from AVG about trojans that I usually move the to virus vault.

PLEASE HELP ME.

Hi dapnikola, and welcome to Icrontic.

Please Download newest HJTInstall.exe to your Desktop.
• Doubleclick HJTInstall.exe to install it.
• By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
• Click on Install.
• It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
• Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
• Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
• Save the log to a convenient location as you'll need to post it soon.
• Don't use the Analyse This button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
• Don't have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Create a new HJT log and post it here, thank you. :)

First of all thank you for the help...

Secondly, according to your instructions I had to run AVG Anti-Spyware twice. I run it only once in safe mode and that because the scan lasted more than an hour.

When I run SmitFraudFix I was asked if I want the registry to be cleaned (if I remember right) and I answered yes.

I wait for your answer in order to ensure that everything is ok now.

Some general questions:
- Shall I enable again the Resident shield of AVG Anti-spyware?
- When AVG finds a virus or a trojan or something else and I move to to virus vault, is it safe enough or do I have to delete it as well?
- The same for files on quarantine?
- How can I create a restore point?

I apologize if I wasn't clear enough. I didn't meant you have to scan your computer twice with AVG Anti-Spyware. So you did it well. :)
dapnikola wrote:

Good job. :)

========================================================

Step 1

Run HijackThis and click the "Do system scan only" button.
Check the following entries:

O22 - SharedTaskScheduler: gulch - {143404b0-ee92-40a7-8705-06fba9a7abf4} - (no file)

Now close all web browsers, and other windows / programs, and click Fix Checked.

Step 2

Update your Windows XP. A newer version of service pack is available. Service packs increase the safety of your system. Visit Microsoft's windowsupdate site to download the newest version of the service pack.

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ ( Internet Explorer only )

It is running, isn't it?

It is safe, and there is an option to clean or empty virus vault / quarantine.
