    You'll have better luck with this. There is a vast difference between debugging a little PHP and writing a VB script from scratch for someone...

    I know a little about VB, but not much about using it to do file system operations or to run external applications. I normally just use it for ArcGIS and MS Access automation.

    hmm when you insert comments into the code (those are basically so you know what the code is for) do you just put ' at the beginning of each line of code?

    yes a ' is a comment indicator in VB
