Call of Duty

So, I just got the FIRST "Call of Duty". Well, I have this problem in multiplayer where my name has repeated 5's after it and they can't be erased. Anyone know a solution?

    When you go back to the multiplayer tab to set your name do the fives appear there too?

    yeah, and they cant be erased, someone said i have to fill it with spaces.. but, do i really have to do that? makes the name a bit longer than it needs to be.

    I don't know, that's really strange. I've never even heard of a problem like this.

    Uninstall, delete all associated folders, reinstall, install all the latest patch(es)

    Does that fix it?

    That happened to me once, but I think it was with CoD2.

    Not quite the same, I just couldn't edit my online name.

    Uninstall/fresh install cured it.
