What is an acceptable temp for your GPU?

Hello all,

Pretty much what it says on the tin. As you may be aware im am looking at getting into OCing and I am starting to look at the tools needed to monitor temperature etc and I was just wondering what the recommended Max temp was for your GPU.

Incase it is card specific I am running an ATI Radeon X1950 256MB

On stock cooling my old x1900xtx used to hit 95C under load which is insanely hot, but i never had any problems. I put a Zalman VF900 on it and got load temps under 70C even while overclocked.

The stock heatsink on my X1900GT keeps this thing around 65C full load, but it's not the most powerful card in the world either.

That makes me feel better as I dont think mine gets anywhere near that. I may have a tinker and see what sort of speeds I can get as I think the GPU is probably the weak link in my system.

    I think you'd better keep it under 65C .
