So I just found out that I have to send my lap top in for repairs and I decided I want to reformat.

I filled up my hard-drive completely, I only had 550mb left of free space.

I cleaned a lot up, I took all my documents and put them on and external drive.

I now have 50gb of free space...

Im still planning on reformatting just because I think I could use it.

I used Acronis true image to make a back up of my C:\ drive.

I have a file on my external drive "mybackup.tib" and it is 25gb

I really want to know how I can be sure this file is working properly that way when I reformat, I will be able to get my data back.

can someone help me out here? thanks in advance

You can't, but I also think you're just being paranoid.

ok, that made me feel better....
    it really did
    :D
    LOL

I don't know why im so worried.... its just I take lots and lots of pics, and videos... and i end up doubling all those pics, because most of them I end up photo shopping. It would suck to loose them.

But then again your right, Ive already backed up all of them.... so I should stop being so paranoid.

ONE QUESTION I HAVE THAT IS SERIOUS TO ME

If i used acronis true image and backed up my C:\ drive, when I run that backup file, it will install my programs back right?

If you REALLY wanted to be sure, get another HDD and restore the backup to that new hard drive, but thats impracticle. Just pointing out an option if you really are that paranoid as Thrax mentioned. :)
