Hibernation, not enough system rescources for API

hey, its been a while *dusts off cobwebs*

so my comp has a problemo with hibernating..i tried searching, so if i missed it in sorry

when i try to run hibernate (i have 2 gigs of RAM and 20 gigs of free HD space) the system has the NERVE to tell me there is not enough system resources to run the API when i attempt to hibernate...am i missing something??

soft power? no idea what that is
but.. i forgot to mention...sometimes i can hibernate..and sometimes i cannot
