PCI Express 2.0 cards, Will they work in PCI Express 1.0/1.1?

I've got a very nice motherboard, and I don't fancy changing it anytime soon since it works great, and gives me good performance. I'm seeing INCREDIBLY LOW PRICES on 8800GT's. I looked, but I didn't find a damn thing about PCI Express 2.0 cards working on Express 1.0/1.1. Do any of you guys know about it?

Both ways, 2.0 cards should work on 1.0/1.1 motherboards and vice versa.
