Cursor problems in Windows Vista

edited November 2007 in Science & Tech
I haven't heard anything good about Windows Vista and I'm beginning to see why now.

Anyhow I got a really good deal on an Acer Aspire 5315 series notebook. I was checking everything out making sure it was working OK.

But, the problem I'm having is that stupid cursor either disappearing or jumping from hear to there while typing, whether it's in a search box or in a word processor. When the cursor jumps like that and I continue to type than the letters are always behind the cursor in the wrong place. Any suggestions?

Hard telling what else is wrong with this Windows Vista software, so I'll have to take it one problem at a time.

I've had this problem before and it was always tied to an optical usb mouse. It's just one of those annoyances I've learned to deal with. One other thing you may want to check is disabling the tapping on the touch pad. It's very easy to accidentally tap it while typing which will move the mouse and place the cursor there.

This laptop was annoying me in more ways than one, since my Internet was running slower than molasses. I didn't like the graphics, changing it and went to work on the crazy wireless thingy by disabling it along with all the other connections except my dial up. Actually, unchecking the tappy thing was one of the first things I did when I quickly realize touching my finger on that thingy in front of the space bar was causing the cursor to jump over the place,

I'm pretty happy with my setup now, because my Internet runs much faster now that I got rid of all the annoying stuff which a lot of it I even seen in XP.

But, I have to say I really like Vista because of the way the DVD/CD RW is set up along with many other features. It's sure gonna be nice watching my DVDs on this computer rather than that funky little DVD player I was watching them on. Talk about eye strain. I was really impressed with the Acer Monitors, which is the reason I bought an Acer laptop.

I never liked Windows XP, but I can't say that about Vista. I just hope they have all the security problems worked out. Surely they do since I've had this computer for about only a week.
