Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 problem

Well I've installed/had Virtual PC 2007 for awhile I just didn't get around to using it. At one time I had a copy successfully installed it but I misplaced the COA, so I had to scrap it. So just got a new sealed copy in my hands today with the COA and I went back to the same tutorial I had used before and this time around it won't work. The problem is when I insert my actual copy of windows 98 and then reset it it just goes back to looking for it and nothing happens just like a loop. So I would love to know how to fix this problem, any help is great.

Here's the link to the tutorial in case you wanna check it out: http://www.petri.co.il/virtual_install_new_os_on_microsoft_virtual_pc.htm

When you create your Virtual Machine you have to make sure that it can see and access your CD-ROM. There is a checkbox that you have to check to make that happen.

Also why virtual pc? Seriously it's crap compared to VMWare.

Anyway so I've never heard of VMWare so I'll look into it. Back on topic, there isn't an option to enable it "when" creating a new VM but when I go to setting there's an option to attatch a CD or DVD drive to a secondary IDE controller, I have this checked by default, is this what you are talking about?

That's what I was talking about.

Try rebooting with your windows cd in your computer (not in virtual pc). Not all Win98 cd's are bootable many required to boot off a floppy first to install the cd drives that would run the cd.

Alternatively, you can mount a dos boot disk image in VMWare and load Windows employing the boot disk in the manner Kryyst suggested.
