I believe my computer has been hijacked. I keep getting these popups and weird things keep happening to my computer. I have ran every type adware, spyware program, have deleted all but one of my xp user accounts, I've literally stayed up all night running virus scan, followed by AVG spyware on all 5 user accounts (including the admin), but I still have the popups. I have seen the blue screen of death quite a bit, all operates ok in safe mode, but not in normal. I have copied the HJT file. Please help. I have midterms due. Thanks.

    I had to wipe off the hard drive. I am a university student and had to get my mid terms in!!

    Hi vibrantway,
    I had to wipe off the hard drive. I am a university student and had to get my mid terms in!!
    Unfortunately I am still getting the stop error blue screen? Can you still help? Here's my new HJT report. Thanks.
    Since you reformatted your hard drive, your PC is clear of any infections.

    The blue screen is mostly likely hardware related. Can you give me the details of the blue screen.

    Also, you need to update Java.

    Updating Java:
    • Download the latest version of Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 update3.
    • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
    • Click the "Download" button to the right.
    • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
    • The page will refresh.
    • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
    • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
    • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
    • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
    • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
    • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
    • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
    • Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.

    This is the message I saw today when the blue screen appears. When this happens my whole system is rendered disabled and I must restart. I will install the java now. Thanks.

    "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen restart your computer. If it hapens again, follo these steps. Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message disable the driver or check with the manufacturer. Check hardware vendor for Bios updates. Disable Bios memory options such as caching or shadowing.

    I'm not a hardware expert, but I believe that error has to do with a Memory problem. Please read the following link and do a test with Memtest to test your memory.
