DDR/DDR2 RAM question

Hai again all :D
I've just bought a new motherboard, it's being mailed over right now, but it says it supports DDR2... Does that mean it can use DDR if you have it, but DDR2 is what you should use? I have no DDR2 memory and no money left to get some, so I hope not :P

DDR and DDR2 are not compatible together. If the board has DDR2 slots (240pin) then your DDR (168pin) will not fit in it. You need DDR2.

Now, some boards have DDR and DDR2 slots...what motherboard is it?

    Your existing RAM won't work.

Oh, then what does all this mean?
    Memory
Supported RAM Technology DDR II SDRAM
    Supported RAM Integrity Check Non-ECC
    RAM Installed ( Max ) 0 MB / 8 GB (max)
    Supported RAM Speed PC2-4300, PC2-6400, PC2-5300
RAM Features Unbuffered, two DDR channels

I thought that meant it has two DDR channels for just DDR memory

    DDR1 is 184 pins. SD was 168.
