PS3 gets anti-virus software

It is the cruel reality of any internet-connected devices that propagated exploits are a risk. Depending on your platform, this risk is less significant, but it is nonetheless a concern.

In light of that risk, Trend Micro appears to have released the first-ever virus protection for consoles. Despite being billed as virus protection, it's more like a content filter for the young console. Trend Micro's application, free until the end of April, allows parents of guardians to filter sexually explicit or otherwise sensitive material with a password-locked application.
