Invalid drive e: error HELP!!!!

edited November 2007 in Science & Tech
I just got an iPod and I'm trying to download and install iTunes but I'm running into this error. I know it has to do with my USB drive. When I connect it to my computer this is the drive that it is located. I've gotten this error in the past when I've tried to un-install other programs but I was able to get this error to go away by connecting my USB drive. In my current situation this is not working (I'm pretty sure this is because my USB drive is damaged because of a recent drop). So, basically I cannot install iTunes because it appears that the download is looking for drive e: which is not present and not going to be. How can I fix this??? I'm pretty good with computers but mapping drives and networking is not my specialty so if you can be as detailed as possible I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Could you elaborate your PC practices? And to be clear I'm speaking of where you install things, where your OS is installed, if you run raid, if you install programs on removable devices, maybe have a pagefile or something set up on the usb drive, yatta..
