Smitfraud-C Core is very nasty...

Hello, clearly my name is Ted, I am new to Icrontic, someone on a waffles IRC channel told me you guys had a very good spyware section. I had actually already been here a couple hours before his recommendation, but had no idea what to make of the HJT logs etc. I think it's awesome you guys do this and maybe I'll be able to learn some stuff and eventually help people on here too :D.

Anyway I was browsing the wonderful internets the other day when IE opened and started opening multiple instances, one opened an installer and put something in. I am really not sure how, I never OKed any installation but it happened somehow. I ran spybot and adaware and computer associates anti spyware and anti virus. These cleaned up a bunch of things. Popups continued relentlessly so I pulled the plug on my ethernet and set to fixing things. Spyguardpro had isntalled itself, so I deleted all its files from program files and this seemed to get things somewhat under control. Another weird thing was that my computer was constantly trying to install microsoft outlook...

So spybot said it needed to reboot and try again which I did several times to no avail. I then tried BitDefender, which cleared out a large number of things. This really seemed to help and I thought I was in the clear. However, today I rebooted again and the IE popups and MS office installation prompts returned. I am currently running bit defender again and ewindo, at the suggestion of another thread but neither seems to be helping. I've never used HJT before so in addition to some help with getting rid of smitfraud and whatever else is lurking in my computer I would greatly appreciate if someone would explain some of the stuff about HJT and the log files it outputs. Thanks in advance

Cheers
Ted

PS it today has also started shutting down explorer.exe, which is incredibly frustrating and when I ran spybot the first few times it would freeze and cut the power when I tired removing spyware.

Thanks again in advance for help :D
