Keyboard errors

Hi
I'm using win2000pro .Recently my keyboard is acting strangly.If I strike a button it gives me a wrong letter.For e.g if I strike the a button it shows + or = sign.Some of my keyboard buttons are not even functioning . Can anybody let me know how to fix this problem thanks.

    You might have a short in the keyboard. You got any spares lying about?

    He's right - the keyboard and mouse take more wear and tear than any other PC component. It's likely that either something shorted inside due to a spill, dust, etc, or that the circuit board has simply worn out from wear.
