SMP Running as a Serive - Pause before quiting

I'm one of those that dares to run SMP as a service and uses a dedicated user account permissions to get the darn thing to run on restart. Well... I've killed several work units because running as a service does not allow you a graceful way to shut down the service. So... today I launched "services.msc" and PAUSED the service. When that was done, I stopped the service and restarted. What did I find when I restarted...
Yep, no crash!!!! Yeah. Now time to write a script to pause the service, stop the service and restart.
BTW... Running SMP on a domain PC with Vista.
