I'm one of those that dares to run SMP as a service and uses a dedicated user account permissions to get the darn thing to run on restart. Well... I've killed several work units because running as a service does not allow you a graceful way to shut down the service. So... today I launched "services.msc" and PAUSED the service. When that was done, I stopped the service and restarted. What did I find when I restarted...
[21:35:15] Completed 435000 out of 500000 steps (87 percent)
[22:58:36] Writing local files
[22:58:36] Completed 440000 out of 500000 steps (88 percent)
[00:05:27] Service stop request received.

Folding@Home Client Shutdown.
