Adding older drives

I recently replaced an E-machines desk top that was running Windows XP with a HP Pavilion a6200n which is running the evil Vista. I'd like to recover the files from my old hard drive, but not sure how to approach it. Can I just add the old drive to the new machine?

    Yep, you can just plug the drive in - vista will recognize it and you can get files off of it no problem.
