solid state drives gone?!!

I have a dell PC with a built in card reader (CF / SD etc) - this would show up in 'computer' (I'm on vista) as a series of drives - all good. These were there today, at some point.

Now, I go to put in a CF card and nothing happens, so I look to 'computer' and all the drives have vanished! (Just leaving me with OS HDD and the 2 external HDDs I have)

Still the same after a reboot, and if I go in to Disk Management I cant see any sign of the drives.

Any ideas?!!

It looks like they are working again - if anyone's interested:
I popped the case off, disconnected the card reader from the mobo

    Rebooted

Connected the cable to the mobo again

    Rebooted

    The drives were back.

(By the looks of it the drivers are dodgy and if you remove the device and reboot on reboot it detects it as a 'new device' and installs the drivers from within Vista)

Hopefully you do not have to do that every time to get them to show up!

It's the first time its happened, very odd - I tend to use the CF and SD slots very often, once a day at least.

At least its fixed now, but as you say, hopefully it will not be a regular 'feature' lol
