Firefox problem

edited January 2008 in Science & Tech
Hi!
at least I think its a Firefox problem, but here is the deal...
When I'm using firefox it locks down a couple of times so the only way to close it is through task manager. and I noticed that Firefox is takeing about 96-98% of the CPU. what could be the problem? got the lastest version of it so it shouldn't be that.

You wouldn't happen to be visiting pages that run need the java plugin to run, would you? Seems that 60% of the time java is the culprit of me having to kill firefox in the same way you do, and I'd love to find out why.

Back up your bookmarks, then uninstall firefox. Then delete the following folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\YOURWINDOWSUSERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla

    Reinstall Firefox.

Your bookmarks are still there because you didn't delete the folder I instructed. Please back up your bookmarks before doing so.

Have you run any AntiSpyware or AntiVirus scans?
Some kind of NastyWare was my first thought.
