DVD to iPOD

My mother has an iPod and need to convert a non-protected DVD to MPEG-4 for the iPOD. I have no idea how to do this or what program to use, since I think "i" anything is a total piece of crap.

    Rip the DVD with DVD Decrypter Fab, then compress it with SUPER.
