i got PS3 connect to wireless but my bros laptop is in same room as the ps3 & whenever i connect both of them to the wireless @ same time..1 doesnt work but the other does..IP conflict i think..but when i only connect 1 of them to the wireless leaving the other either disconnected or hook it up to wired..the wireless works fine on whichever is on it..how can i make it so BOTH connect to wireless w/o conflict?

You can manually assign given IP addresses to given MAC addresses. Go into your router settings and assign, for instance, .120 to the PS3's MAC address and .125 to the laptop.

You can find the MAC addresses by A) on the laptop, assuming you're running Windows, running a command prompt and typing ipconfig /all and look for the address associated with the wireless adapter (which will look something like 00-1A-2B-3C-4D), and B) on the PS3 by going to the settings section, look for system settings, and then system information, second from the bottom. MAC address is right there.

As for how to do it in your router, it varies by hardware, but it's usually not too hard to find. By the way, this will solve address conflicts, but if that's not the actual problem, it won't solve anything, and you'll still have issues. Good luck!

thx for post MJ..but if the router is setup as DHCP..shouldn't it be auto assigning ip's that don't conflict to any device connected to it..wired or wireless

Sure, it should be, but this will ensure it.
