Ok, so I need to get a new hard drive for a friend and the laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A15-S127. Here is a link to the hard drive that was in it, or at least I think this was it. http://www.superwarehouse.com/Toshiba_MK3021GAS_30GB_Laptop_Hard_Drive/HDD2181/p/229316
So, I'm a little confused on what I need to get. I read somewhere that these laptops were ATA-5, but I don't know how he found that out since I haven't seen anything about it. Can I just buy a new ATA-6 drive off of Newegg and it would be backwards compatible? Somebody please help me figure out a drive to get and where to get it at b/c this is confusing to me for some reason.
Thanks,
Nick

Yea, thats the first place I checked, but all they say is ATA-6 (34)
SATA 3.0Gb/s (7)
Serial ATA150
Is ATA-6 IDE still?

Would that one work?

I suggest this. Good site, too.
Nickboxer7, the drive you linked should work fine.
And I don't feel like opening another thread so if anyone feels like explaining, why did it change from short-media to icrontic? I never read anything about it I just came back one time and it was changed, and I thought I had the wrong site lol.
