IncrediMail Question

Anybody here use IncrediMail?
I have an annoying problem with the program.
This may also happen in Outlook too. I don't know because I don't use it.
On some of my emails that come in, for instance Newegg, the IncrediMail will open IE instead of Firefox.
I get other e-mails that open IE also.
And I have set FF as the default browser.
This is very annoying because after IE has been opened I have to run AdAware and Spybot S&D to get rid of the tracking cookies/crap etc, it always loads.
I don't want to delete IE because certain programs in Win XP have to have it...Updates for one.
So, I was wondering if anyone knows how to change (what I assume is) the exe assoc of the IncrediMail or incoming e-mails to open only in FF.
If I'm wrong in assuming the exe assoc of e-mails is the right description of what needs to be changed. Someone please let me know.
Also, I have checked at IncrediMail in their Help/Troubleshooting FAQ's section and there's nothing on it.
Thnx for any replies friends..

Which program opens should be based on how your file associations are set in windows (which you can look at from the options dialog in the file browser).

Whatever file you click on, the request to open gets sent to the OS, not handled by the program you clicked on it in, perhaps the type of file that newegg is linking to in their e-mails is associated for explorer on your system.

I would (and do on a new install) go through the file associations dialog and make sure that nothing is associated with IE in the list.

    Thnx for the input CB.
Couldn't figure out where file assoc settings are.
But I did find, after searching all through windows and program option/ settings, a check box setting that associates FF with EML files.
    And it wasn't checked.
I'll have to wait for another e-mail from one of the IE opening e-mails now to see if that did the trick.

Go to your file browser. Click tools > folder options.

That brings up the Folder options dialog. Then just click the 'file types' tab, and it will show you and allow you to edit all of your current associations.

That's where I found the check box for EML & URL extension assoc.
It's kind of confusing which EXT is associated to opening the different e-mails.
Only I got there through control panel/folder options/file types tab.
I made note of which Ext assoc was changed just in case it doesn't work so I can change back to default.
    Appreciate the help CB.
    Thnx bud.

Nope, That didn't set FF to open those e-mails.
Newegg still opens with IE. What a (P I T A) IE is.
As I know the other e-mails that did it will still do it too.
Guess I'm just going to try to delete IE from my pc.
I just can't figure out how to make them open in FF.
I have tried everything I read/searched on to no avail.
And I've searched for hrs on the subject.

I've attached a pic of the window CB referenced. It should be a complete list of every file extension on your computer. Make sure nothing on that list has IE set as the application.

If you do that and still have the problem, it's a setting in IncrediMail.

You can't uninstall IE, really :-/

    Yep, That's control panel/folder options/file types tab.
Changed all to FF assoc that had IE assoc.
Noottt. Didn't help. Thnx for the pic though Keebs.
Even went into control panel/Add Remove Programs/Set Program Access & Defaults/ Choose default web browser & choose default e-mail program.
Went into FF tools/options/ make FF default browser.
Also checked all settings in Incredimail.
Searched Incredimail help & support forums. Nothing.
Guess I'll just have to unsubscribe to the news letters that open IE.
