Computer constantly dying

Well this is probally a new one for ya. Today I downloaded NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder and installed it. After I installed it, I pressed a button on the keygen, which said that it was going to enter a "video codec serial" key into the registry. After I do this, I delete the program and 10 secs later, my computer dies. But it dies as if the power went out in the building.

So I turn the computer back on, it loads the login screen, I log on, and after 30 secs it does the same thing again. Now I'm thinking that it was the software (not knowing that my 8800 GTS was bundled with it to begin with) and try booting into safe mode. In safe mode I try to unistall it through the add/remove programs and the computer dies again. Then I try last known good configuration and it dies. Then it began dying faster and faster, where I can only get past POST.

I looked in my case and checked to see if everything was hooked in correctly, and it was. Then I unplugged some devices not in use, thinking that I was useing too much power, but it did no good. Could you guys please help me with this?

I dont know if this helps but on the GeForce 8800 GTS box, it says it requires that the PSU can supply 26 amps on the +12V rail, but my PSU says 22A on +12V1 rail and 22A on +12V2 rail. I have no idea what this means, but if it is that my PSU doesnt hae enough power, I wonder how my box was running for three days before this horrible disaster.

My Specs:
MB: ASUS P5N32-SLI DELUXE FSB 1066/800/533 DDR2 667/533
GPU: EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS KO 640MB DDR3
CPU:vIntel Pentium D 2.66GHz
PSU: Enermax NoiseTaker II DXX 600W SLI
RAM: 2GB pqi PC5400
HD: Seagate 400GB SATA
OS: Windows XP Home

Ok so today I was talking to this guy in my Java class, and he said that he had a similar problem as me. He was talking about how he had installed a new video card and how his computer would crash if he got into any games that really used his card, because his card was underpowered. (kinda like how mine doesnt get enough power to the card) But he said that he was able to boot into Windows and surf the internet and stuff, but to launch games, would cause his computer to crash.

So I was thinking maybe it is my PSU that is underpowered. What do you guys think cause my computer still shuts off after POST and I am getting really desperate right now. Please help me if you can. Thanks.

you said it right there. Your PSU is indeed underpowered. 22amps < 26 amps.

Read Mike D's review of the Corsair TX750. Provides 60A on 12v rail.

Thanks primesuspect for the reply. I just read through Mike D's article and the PSU looks good to me. So I am going to get this PSU (if it meets my budget....which it looks like it does) and I will report back if that fixes the problem. Thanks again for your speedy and useful help.
