help with battle for middle earth

First off, i have played the game on my computer before and it worked fine. So i know that my computer isnt the problem. Anyway i installed it again after it got deleted, and after i successfully install it, i try to open the game a message pops up saying, "game.dat" has experienced a problem and needs to close. I un-installed it several times and even tried new disks and it still wont work. Ive scanned the net for help but i cant find a similar situation to mine, anyway any help would be greatly appreciated.

    oh and ive tried getting a no-cd patch but to no avail. ive updated my drivers from nvidia.

    You say you have uninstalled it several times, but did you make sure that all game files were deleted from the HD prior to install? Sometimes, the uninstaller leaves some files on the HD, causing conflicts and errors with the new ones.
