<p>MediaDefender, and parent company ArtistDirect has seriously hit the skids after <a href="http://www.portfolio.com/news-markets/national-news/portfolio/2008/01/14/Media-Defenders-Profile#page1">700MB of internal emails surfaced</a> that, not surprisingly, highlight the underhanded and anti-consumer attitudes inherent within the company. This includes, but is not limited to the information acquired by PirateBay to prove that hackers were paid to disrupt PirateBay's operations, and humor expressed at the lawsuit approach of major media organizations.</p>
