dell dimension 8400 tv driver?

I wanted to connect my dell desktop the dimension 8400 to my toshiba, and i bought two male to female VGA extension cords to reach across the room to the TV. The TV would then say UNSUPPORTED VIDEO SIGNAL. Is there a special driver I need to download for my computer to be able to connect to the TV? My dell desktop is about 3 or 4 years old, and I talked to my neighbor, a tech guy also and he says to download a driver for my graphics card or something to update it. Can anyone help? :confused:

    alex dell has an online support and driver downloads,all free they even have online chat.checkout there website

    Thanks but what i was asking for was a specific driver or type of some sort that i should check out.
