KDE opens to Apple and Microsoft alike

<p>I thought this neither possible nor likely, but it seems KDE has been introduced for Windows and Mac OS. The clever thing about it is that the installer contains universal binaries that will run on any platform the package is configured for. If you hop on over to <a href="http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080123-kde-goes-cross-platform-with-windows-mac-os-x-support.html">Ars</a&gt; you can behold all the Linux'y goodness running on its evil siblings.</p>
<p>Cue "HISS! Micro$oft!" comments in 3, 2, 1...</p>

    Why would KDE even bother? Last time I used KDE, I remember it being super similar to Windows, but with waaaay too many redundant menus.
