Means unit of work that F@H servers can process into meaningful data that is big enough to give good set of info. Human laborers use hour of work, F@H uses amount of info results needed minimum to give good results.
looking at your sig bud I see wu:1 which means that you have successfully completed your first work unit and it has been sent back to stanford and you're been given credit on your score of 47 ...so you completed a wu worth 47 points.
Now hopefully after that your folding client successfully downloaded another wu to work on and is in that process now ....each time a wu is sent back to stanford it usually takes around 20 minutes to see your credit.
in the meantime look for a thread similar to this ..."Who wants SM-20?" or whatever SM-# happens to be at the time.
We throw together spare parts and $ build systems and ship them off to teamates who promise to keep the system running strictly for folding purposes ...dedicated folding machines if you will.
All you have to do is throw your name in the hat and you have a chance at getting one ...be persistent if you're interested.
Also ...if you have spare parts or $ to donate I think that mmonnin or General Keebler is the contact person.
if you host sm-20 I think it goes under the name of sm-20 so that the mods can keep track of production ...it's all for the same cause.
if you want to build your own dedicated system to add to your personal rank you can do that also ...you can get loads of advice here too ...best to start a separate thread for that ...but you'd be surprised at how little it takes to get one going. And you could possibly get donations of spare parts that way also.
