Shrinking width of PDF?

There are some PDF's I would like to view on my smart phone but they are too wide and while I can zoom in to read the text I have to use my arrow keys to read each line. If I can make the pages half the fixed width(kinda like how you can word wrap in Notepad) they are in I can zoom in and read the text and would only need to scroll down to read the next page and so on.

You would have to copy the text into another document, and scale it there.

The whole point of a PDF document is that it looks exactly the same to everyone no mater what size their screen it, or what fonts they have installed, so changing it around like that would be contrary to it's purpose as a format.

you can only do that with expensive plugins - you'd need at a bare minimum Acrobat Pro 8 and Quite Software's Quite Imposing 2.

This is like a $1500 package.

Plus it would probably be very ugly.

Copy and paste had some annoying problems, I sent myself the PDF via Gmail and used the View in HTML command which I copied and pasted the source code into a .txt file which I renamed to a .html an opened in Word and made some minor adjustments and saved as .doc. Works great on the phone but I spent a good amount of time and effort into creating inbedded links that are not working :( I am gonna try just using HTML as I have a web browser which may solve some other slightly annoying issues. But word documents glide so nicely on this phone unlike PDF's.
