oh alright. Another question. I wanted to just install windows xp onto the tl50..do you think the drivers would still be compatible with it since it was originally vista?
You would have to go search for the appropriate drivers manually. Generally, XP and Vista drivers are not compatible (Though there are some exceptions for simple devices like network cards).
oh alright thanks! I have this dell and it just goes really slow. I dont know what happens with it. I just reformatted it like a month ago and everything has been fine until recently where it has slowed down. I ran a scan and it says that it has unusually low memory performance and unusually low disk performance (C). The test was ran through pcpitstop.com
If it just became slow recently, you may be infected with avirus or Malware. A clean install may be a good option - or try posting a Hijack This log in the Spyware forum. Before posting the log check out the sticky titled "Slow Computer? Check here first; it may not be malware" at this link:
If you are going to wipe the laptop clean and reinstall XP I suggest the following. First goto this link
and enter in the details of your laptop as it requests. If the drivers are packaged up and you can download them all, do that and save onto an external source - CD, external Hard drive etc.
Make sure you download the XP drivers for your model of Laptop.
Then once you install Windows XP you can use the Disk to install the drivers.
If you are unsuccessful using the above link try DriverGuide.com or similar sites to track down the Drivers you require. The only risk with that is, you need to be definite about the drivers you are installng so a decent amount of computer knowledge is required - BTW I am not assuming you don't have that knowledge, I will leave that call up to you.:D
