RAID 1

Hello all,

Newbie here on this forum. I was wondering if there is some kind of way to make a RAID out of USB external drives? I currently have an Adaptec RAID 1 setup internally with 250 gig drives. But I'm outgrowing those drives and would like a bigger RAID. I see so many of those big external drives on sale anymore it would be great to utilize them somehow.

    I dont know why anyone would want to have RAID on a USB drive, its kinda pointless. The external drives are just normal drives in an enclosure. Just slap it into your PC so there is no bottleneck at the USB port.

    You could probably do a software RAID in Drive Manager but as mmonnin said, it would be kind of pointless. Just upgrade the internal drives. It would be cheaper than buying externals.
