In case anyone is interested in the newest beta client FAH4.00-Console-Pre2 ...the typical beta warnings apply so it's not advisable to run this client unless you know what you're doing and are prepared to report problems to the stanford forum.
You can inquire here about flags if you are interested with your cpu details (mfg/model).

Also ...if you stop the client for a moment and delete your FAHCore_78.exe you should receive the most current FAHCore_78.exe Version 1.54 (November 26, 2003) ...again ...not for the squeemish.

That is all ...:fold:

I was looking at it earlier in the week. Is there any reason to switch over to it, or even give it a try?

I think the biggest issue it fixed was in the client name configuration ...it seems that the pre1 wasn't recognizing spaces in a name like The SmJ ...this client suppposedly fixes that ...I'll find the other fixes but not worth worrying about unless you have a space in your client name.

ok this is what Guha at stanford had to say about it ...
    Hi,
A Prerelease 2 is up. The primary changes are it going back to allowing all punctuation in user names and, under the batch G@h networking mode, it attempting to get new units at every startup.
    -Guha

so it appears that if you are running FAH4 for Genomes (as some of the slower systems usually choose) you may also be concerned.

Ok, I guess I'll stick with the one I have then, till I have a reason to change.

    Thanks csimon!

I've been running it for a couple of days now, without any problems.
