Does this core look damaged?

I'm considering buying this processor, but I can't tell from this photo if the core is damaged. Do the corners look damaged, or is that just because it's a bad photo...

Also, if you can read the stepping on that let me know... it looks to me like a mobile processor stepping or something... ?

Looks like there is a very small piece missing out of the top left corner of that core.

Yup. Thanks for picking that out, SimGuy. Now that you listed it, it looks really clear.

What do you all think on that corner chip... is this processor worth $30 or not?

More like ARJHB030xxx2W. Just open it in PS and sharpen it.

I've had chips that were "chipped" like that work OK, seen others that were TU.

If you know (or really trust) the seller it might be worth $30. I'd express my concerns up front and ask if you can get a refund before you buy it.

Eh... it's on eBay, so the "trust" is limited to the feedback rating. I think I'll pass on this one. Thanks for the input, folks!

I personally wouldn't get it. The chip may cause higher temps or it may just be fubar'ed. If you have the $30 to spare than go for it.

I have heard of cpus mising a pin and still work. I would have probably bought it if I needed a spare cpu.
