Asus Question / Memory Compatibility

edited February 2008 in Hardware
Hi,

Can someone please help me to decide if I am correct about this notion. I am considering purchasing a desktop PC that runs ASUS M2NPV-VM Socket AM2 MotherBoard With nVidia geForce 6150 Chipset. I have surfed and found one site that claims this motherboard supports 8G of RAM. http://www.opentip.com/products/ASUS_MNPVVM_Socket_AM_NVIDIA_GeForce_Micro_ATX_AMD_Motherboard_Retail_RoHS_Compliant-697131.html The website listing the PC that I am interested in only lists the PC to support the single gig memory sticks, for a total of 4G. Is this just because the boards that they have are old stock and have not yet had BIOS upgrades? I would like to buy something that I can upgrade as I need to, according to my skills as a new gamer and game developer. I just hate watching new equipment fall by the wayside faster than it can get paid for!

If this is the case, that the board just needs a new BIOS to be much better, how would I find the best CPU and memory arrangement for future considerations?

Thanks,
