Here's the problem I got a pc from a member here for a friend (not the
problem) the pc got a virus or something and it would
take forever to get online.
So they stop using it that was months ago now they bring it to me
and ask me to look at it.
Now here's the problem it has windows 2000 Pro on it and it asked for
a admin password and they don't remember it.
Without it I can't get on, I tried to disable the password is setup, didn't help.
tried to remove the CMOS battery and waited an 1/2 hour. I put the battery
back and tried to boot and it still asked for it.
So now what( other than putting a new OS on it) can I do?

When are you prompted for the password? You didn't make that clear.

FYI resetting the bios won't do anything to change the windows password. That will only reset a bios password if it's been set.

The long way to go about it, but it's easier for me to copy and paste a link. ;D

//EDIT: Since you said you're in as admin, go to start -> run and type: lusrmgr.msc -- then press enter. Go to the users folder, right click an account and hit "Set password." Leave both boxes blank and hit apply. If the account was encrypted, this will destroy all information permanently, so be sure that this is not the case. Also, this procedure may not work because BartPE (Occasionally) doesn't load user registry hives, just software and system.

I used Bart to get me boot like a live cd than I used a password renew
program(that I added to Bart as a plugin) than added myself
The way I did is about the same. But I really were just grabbing at
straws when I did it. my way was burn a cd with BartPE with the
password renew program, booted up the other pc with it and open
the password renew program added myself as an admin and rebooted
    and logged on.

After reading what you posted http://icrontic.com/articles/windows_nt_password_recovery
I think my way was easier
