Graphical designers or people with a lot of specialty apps, where each key can not only be programmed as a shortcut to a specific function, but can also display an image of that function so when you look down you can find it immediately. People who want to switch languages or keyboard layouts a lot.

There are a lot of uses for it, and I have none of them, which is sad, because I kind of want it. He's working on a new one with a keyless essentially touchscreen OLED based on the same principles, but with much fewer moving parts that will hopefully keep the cost a little lower... but I'm not holding my breath.

What is the point of a "touch screen" keyboard? You wouldn't even be able to feel the keys...well its a screen so you'd have to look at it while typing.

What would happen if you just finished fa...... oh nvm.

But seriously, I would never even think of purchasing something like that. Id rather buy 2 video cards at that price.

The touchscreen version is supposed to have haptic feedback under the screen, not sure if there's going to be any way to feel the keys from the top, though. Honestly, once I set my hands, I'm done, I don't need to look at them again, and if it feels like a keypress under the screen, I'd think it'd work ok for me. But then again, who knows.

yeah! Who needs a pc when you got a keyboard! I could imagine someone hooking one of these to their eMachine so as to compensate for their epeen.

i think it could be pretty cool, if it was 225$ price range i could imagine getting it but 1,600 just seems insane. a [pr0n] key would be sweet though.

Or realistically speaking, buy a big widescreen monitor and then download some pr0n. With all the money leftover, you could buy a blu-ray drive and then buy some blu-ray pr0n.

*Note I actually said BUY pr0n.

I didn't know blu rays published their own pr0n. Prolly something interspecies like with a stingray or something.

I'm almost certain it's more of a proof of concept than anything else.

Maybe a smattering of "If you are super rich and 'hip' buy this"
