AN7 opinions?

Hey guys,

After my seemingly neverending shuttle fiasco, I sent the darn thing back for a refund (Hoping its not my OEM proc causing all these strange probs) and I'm just gonna go build me a regular computer. I'm looking at getting an AN7 for it. I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences with it. It seems pretty sweet, and the uguru stuff is fairly neat, but is there really any difference between that and the NF7-S??

While I'm here, how well does this board work with the uber large heatsinks (900 series Thermalrights)??

SATA RAID and Guru I think is all thats different. I just looked at Neoseeker and there are no reviews on it yet. I was thinking about one as well.

NF7-S has SATA RAID I thought?

The NF7-S is possibly my favorite motherboard of all time (and owning 4 others I would know). It has SATA RAID. Not sure about Guru, though... other than that is has everything you could possible want. Oh yeah, it works real nice with oversized heatsinks as I own a 900 myself.

Oh I thought it was just able to support 2 SATA drives but not RAID.

I think mmonnin is right. NF7 does 2 Sata, but not RAID. Least it doesn't say RAID on neweggs specs.

THe NF7-S can very well do SATA RAID (0 I know, not sure about 1). Hence the reason for the RAID BIOS, etc.

I've also spoken to people on other boards who use it (nForceHQ's).

Ok, I'm creeped out. How the hell did this magical tab appear on MyIE that is a google search for "Reasons for the RAID BIOS, etc"

    THEY'RE READING MY THOUGHTS!!!:eek3: :eek3::eek3::eek3:

I put it there![insert manical laughter]

Seriously though, I got my NF7-S m/b from newegg a little over a week ago and I couldn't be happier. You are absolutely right about RAID not being in the specs at newegg, but it does support it.

    Pseudonym had this to say
I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences with it.
Don't buy it! get an NF7-S or wait for the KV7-II.

How can abit mess up an update?
The AN7 is essentially an updated NF7, right?
I have read that they have messed up the mem voltage on the IC7-MAX3 and the NF7 undervolts the CPU.
Guess Abit is having a bad streak.
    /me hugs his NF7-S rev. 2.0 :D

This issue with the cut trace is what is bothering most folks. I sure looks like a crappy deal to me too!!!

    No kidding.
It looks like it has been done with a screwdriver.
Some say it is an exacto knife though.

Read that the 3rd dimm slot gets fried if you reconnect the trace.

But these quote takes the prize.

"I would expect this from Epox, not from Abit"

    And the this

"Listen to this. I have this little yellow sticker on my AN7 box from some Japanese company. Why the fuc is there a sticker from a Japanese vendor on it?

It says something in Japanese and then "support@Keian.co.jp"

    This is the company. http://www.keian.co.jp/"
