Generic8.RKV Trojan

Hello,

I have recently run a scan using AVG and found this to be infecting the file HGC.exe in my C:\Windows\System32\Addins directory. AVG reports it as Trojan, Generic8.RKV. I healed the file, deleted HGC.exe, rebooted and it appears to be gone now. When I scan with AVG and Kapersky online scanner I no longer show infection. However, I was wondering if I should be worried about further trojan activity from this file.

I am running Windows Vista SP1 x64

This is my HijackThis log.

As I said, Kapersky online scanner and AVG both report no infection, I'm just worried that the previous infection might still be present and "hiding." Any information on this would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

    Welcome to Icrontic Pyrodox,

I wasn't aware of any softwares approved for any Vista setups with an SP1 beta upgrade. I think you are taking chances even trying any, to be honest.

That file comes with the use of a Vista activation crack method. Other than informing you of this forum's restrictions on assisting in situations where keygens or other illegal software use is involved, where exactly did you get this copy of Vista?
