Computer is acting very strange.
Hi,
I have a pc that Im trying to clean up for a friend. Its very slow and acting strangely, for example: when I right click the start menu button, it wants to install Trend Micro...Ive already deleted that program from the Add/Remove function & deleted the program file folder. Here's a copy of the HJT log. Can someone please look at it & advise me on how to proceed from here? Thanks.

No infection showing here, but you really don't mention this being an infection issue. As I am sure you can see Trend is showing as partially installed yet. Any chance the uninstall was done with AVG also installed and active, and maybe corrupting the uninstall? A good solution would be to completely disable AVG, then reinstall and again uninstall Trend correctly. Might even consider uninstalling AVG first, as it's install may have also become corrupted by Trend being there. be sure to reboot between installs/uninstalls. This system only has SP1, which hasn't been supported by MS in a long time. Why hasn't your friend upgraded to the must have SP2, with the added security patches and updates?
