Before we begin, is there any particular reason why you need to upgrade the firmware on your burner?
  • edited March 2008
Well the main reason is that it takes about 4 1/2 hours to rip a DVD

Download Liggy's 3500 Bitsetting 2.R8 RPC1 from here. There's a flashing tutorial on the page.

That's likely an issue of the software you are using and not the firmware. It's also based on your machine specs (processor/ram) lots of factors the majority of which have nothing to do with the firmware of your burner.

Actually, it's not. Many DVD burners these days have their ripping speed artificially capped in the firmware. It's a crappy practice.

Learn something new every day. Never encountered it myself.

Thanks a lot for the patch help.... My burner went from 2x to 16x...I couldn't believe how much the company had ripped me of my speed

Both of my most recent DVD burners had their ripping speed capped at 4x. I'm so glad I was able to get patches for them, and I'm glad I could help you get one for yours. :)

Hey thrax, Well I was trying to run a program on a disc for my computer and everytime I run it, It brings me to the Run/Uninstall screen and then I click run...After that it says "Can't Find required Resource, Please make sure disc is inserted correctly and is clean. Error: RRGB 12928 Could this have anything to do with me adding the firmware patch or is the disc just messed up?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Sounds like the disc is just messed up. Try installing from other CDs, and if that doesn't work, the default firmware for your burner is also available on the page I linked earlier. :) You can flash back to default and try something else.

ehhhh I think it must be the disc because I tested the driver with software, dvd's. and cd's and they all worked...I just wasn't sure if the firmware caused this because the disc worked fine about 4 days ago..O well..Thanks for the help!

It could be the firmware some firmwares have issue with some forms of copy protection.
