Recommend a good codec pack

Hi, first time back on these forums for a while but I always come here for my tech advice. Can anyone recommend me a decent up to date codec pack?

You see I had loads of nice codecs and thingys that would run everything smoothly then I got greedy and figured there must be better packs out there with codecs I might not have... so I downloaded one which was recommended somewhere (it turned out it was recommended a year or so ago) and clicked 'yes to all' for the changes the pack wanted to make cause I'm a bit lazy.

So it pretty much erased all my nice codecs, installed some older ones and now a couple files don't play and some website videos are a bit iffy, just general annoying things that ran smoothly before.

Any suggestions of a good pack somewhere?

You could try CCCP but I usually use GOM Player.

I've been using the K Lite Mega Codec for years and it works perfectly and plays everything.

QFT. This is the only one I have installed, and I've never run into anything I couldn't play.

Some formats don't play as well as other (for exaple, I'll find that I can't fastforward through some .MOVs, but having to install only one codec pack is nice, and makes up for it.
