Plantronics DSP 550 driver conflict

Ok well I plug in my Plantronics headset which has its own drivers that take complete control of my system's sound. When I unplug them it doesnt go back to my regular HD 5.1 ch sound thats built in my laptop. Even after restarting it doesnt go back. So I end up having to reinstall my Audio drivers for my laptops audio card. I dont know what to do to fix this, other then stop using my headset which isnt an option because I use it for Teamspeak to talk to my Battlefield 1942 clan members.
