Myth member attacking me

As you've probably seen, I've suffered 5 attacks today from silkesvarten out of HMK G, part of the MyTh K alliance. He got me good 1st time round as I was asleep but subsequent attacks got him very little.

During this time I've managed to get my residence upto L10 and I'm now ready to start with the settlers as I will have to relocate.

I expect he will persist for some time so need some advice.
If I start training settlers, can they be killed in future attacks or do I need to send them away just before the incoming onslaught ?

I've moved this to a new thread; I highly suggest not posting tactical questions in the public thread.

I advise to build no units and instead improve resources and buildings. Make sure he keeps getting nothing/very little, and he will likely move on. Sending that many troops against you is rather wasteful of time.

Right, as I was thinking. Starting to lose grasp of where I'm replying to when it comes to this game.

As goes for anyone. If you're not a target from some big SOB with multiple villages and endless troops, by all means, build a small army (100 troops or less), and raid like hell, but, if you're being attacked regularly, there is no sense in building a army to try and protect yourself with. You waste resource, while not upgrading resource, spending on soldiers that will get killed. The most you can really do is keep a small expendable force to raid inactives in your 7X7 and hope not to lose them when you're sleeping during a raid.

Your only advantage when you're being attacked, and if you're being farmed regularly by a heavyweight, is to keep minimal troops for raiding, scouts for detecting scouts and building cranny's for hiding needed resource when attacked. Having a decent Marketplace helps as well when you see an attack coming and can distribute the resources out at will. It's not out of the question to build 6, 7, 8, lvl 10 cranny's if you have to, it works well against raiders who do not send cata's. Potsy is setup that way, he's growing while being attacked one to twice daily, but with 7-8 crannies, he fosters well and remains to grow. Let's face it, if a superior player attacks you, the only defense is to give him nothing, or next to nothing, and eventually they'll stroke you off on their attack list.

The advantage to this strategy is that you do not lend motivation for an attacker to come back. With persistence, they'll stop trying to farm you.

The next step is to build a residence, establish your settlers and get your ass out to the powerbase, where you can quickly get your second village up. You might also want to establish your third village at the powerbase before heading to an outpost.

No matter if you're not being attacked or you are being attacked. The key is to build you economy, if that gets strong, you will be strong. I've been growing a lot faster then I could have thought, and that's because of my dedication to resource efficiency and not spending my resource on expensive troops.

It should be noted that "Crannies" are not a target option for catapults through a level 15 Rally Point. I'm not sure when exactly you get it, but it will be only the truly huge ones that can take down your crannies.

Level 20 rally point I believe :rolleyes2 And yes my neighbours can turn my crannies into little bits of dust in a single step :sad2: They're far too big for their own good !

I prefer the "Daisy Flag" flying over my Village... It encourages peace and inner-reflection for my potential enemies. I've been fairly lucky lately. I've been spared an attack but I've worked things out with all the big guys around me.

As I've said before and Tbonz stated above. NO TROOPS unless you can out spend the attacker. It's a double waste of resources.

yep agree with all the above.

I have no troops whatsoever now, resources come purely from the mines after the 1st big attack earlier today took out my 50 Legionaires.
8x crannies, currently building the 9th.
5x scouts that get sent out when I see an incoming attack.
Training 1x settler now that i will forward to one of the villages in the powerbase. (Snake-Eyes ok ?)

Then its a case of spend what I can upgrading the buldings before finishing for the night.

Yes, probably safest bet. Shipwreck is doing all the attacking, so it is most likely to get hit (if any).

I just got smashed my a Myth guy. He's like 13 squares away? He sent this without scouting...

    attachment.php?attachmentid=25025&stc=1&d=1205557149

    I sent him the following...
    Lord GoDsenD,

Why hath thou reprimanded thy servant so harshly? Hath thou been angered is some form? My Lord, if I hath, unbeknownst, displeased you, I ask that I be forgiven for my trespasses.

In the name of all that is holy and just... Please do not torture my people further.

    - Lord Seneschal Q

In other words... where did that come from. And why did you attack? That hurt quite a bit, by the way.

    I sent him the following...

Really, what the heck?!? We're really going to have to grow real big to fight those attacks off. First Black Hawk and now you.
