SATA is my new enemy.
Flashed BIOS on the NF7-S 2.0 to the newest version, the one that I believe csimon posted some days back.
For some reason, the SATA controller was disabled in this flash. Just turned off in the BIOS. I didn't check for it after I set all the other options, because it's always been default on in the past.
I got into windows, and noticed I don't have my SATA-connected WD1200JB. No big deal. Windows had uninstalled the SATA controller.
I go back into the BIOS after rebooting, turn the controller on and get into windows. I install the drivers;
All the data is gone. The disk is "Unformatted." No partition, nothing.
That was the very drive that has my data recovery software on it.
Just my ****ing luck.

Or am I not getting the reference?
The partitions are toast, the disk appears fresh out of the box to windows. There's "Nothing" there, but GetDataBack is finding stuff (I found a copy on a CD I made).
Wow. That was bad.
I only recovered 1/2 of the 50gb on the drive.
I have a 1200JB connected to my raid controller as well.
I am not using raid or anything.
I am only using the sata raid as an extra ide controller.
Didn't know your data could disappear that quickly when you are not using ibm nor raid.
