Would it be a good idea to all add each other on a specific IM network?
Other alliances do it, and it could lead to much better coordination in defence and attacks, rather than posting in the forum.

And say if something big happens, put everyone in one large IM conversation.

Just a thought...

not a chatroom though, some IM services allow more than 1-on-1 conversations.

You "make" a channel simply by typing any room name. We're on rizon anyway, so why not make a chat in there?

Something to the effect of #ictravian would probably work.

Ah, I'm not too confident with IRC at the moment  I'm still relatively new, I just know how to join channels and talk... although I did make some channels by accident when trying to join #IC :P

ok, there are thousands of channels on rizon

to save brain death from reading all of them, what one is the IC one?

    EDIT: found it: #icrontic

mIRC is free. After the "trial", it just takes 5 extra seconds to load.

#icrontic is the main channel; using #ictravian for this.

That's true. I've joined now. My internet connection at home is down. Me, prag, and harudath were all talking in there for quite a while this morning.

Yeah, I was in there all morning, but something went wacky with my IRC client and started kicking me. Trying a new client in a moment so you may see me hanging around in there shortly.

Unless you make the channel +i (invite only) and have a bot sitting in there where users authenticate themselves, I don't see how you'll stop people from joining that aren't welcome . . . unless you just don't talk of anything important in there, only stuff like "Can you send 5K wheat to x|y". You can make the channel +h, but that only hides it, it doesn't keep people from joining. Does rizon have services like DALnet does/used to (don't know if it still does, haven't been on DALnet in years) where ChanServ (or whatever bot) can kick users from the channel that haven't authenticated with NickServ?

you see, thats why i thought of IM programs, because that way you'd need each other's email address...

but to be fair its a bit paranoid to think we'll have spies that are that going to find the network, we're just not big enough for the effort to be put in to sabotage us

Yeah, I could do all that. Or we can just watch the userlist :p

    just go to the www.rizon.net
