Ok, hey icrontic users. Today i will pose a simple question, "Is it safe?" Firstly i wanted to do a virus test becuase i dont care about this partion any more.

And secondly if i run a script which would say delete every important windows 32 files posible and reconfigure the autoexec file what exactly would happen?

Its a virus made in C i belive a friend of mine was macking a windows 5 minute reformat file... and changed it to a virus lol. Which deletes 9 or so system32 files and completey reconfigures the autoexec file.

Would there be a way to fix it?(not that i care) And last if i have the windows XP DVD in the DVD will anything happen?

Overall would the HD in any way get corrupt or the DVD

If you mean will the HD get corrupted as in damaged, then no it won't your just deleting files. But that's not a true format. It's just crashing the OS essentially.

Also in all likeliness if they are protected files he's trying to delete - and most core windows files are protected it won't let you delete them from the OS if they are in use at the time.

Also windows no longer uses autoexec.bat or config.sys.

And, if you have a 'friend' who is trying to make a virus, punch him on the nose from the rest of us, hard.

bothered lol, i will let him know. And second i already reformatted. kryyst i know that's not a real reformat. When windows reboot it was like windows couldn't start because it is missing 15 files lol... Then i just booted from the windows CD and reformatted and installed a clean OS.

It's probably not a virus, it's just some bull**** batch script that deletes files. Script kiddies are stupid.
