Its mostly on I-75 (like a good 90%) so if you live somewhere near this path, can drive a stick shift and want to split the cost of the trip, please let me know.
Here's the planned trip for Canti and I. Any thoughts/improvements? Should it really take 13 hrs?
yup, maybe 12.5 from kansas city. remember chicago has tolls. going to indianapolis on i-70 then up i-69 to i-94 only adds about 15 minutes, but it is free JUST WATCH YOUR SPEED IN INDIANA! cops use laser guns(no radar warning) and they seem to be at every exit ramp or bridge.
if you want me to post the route I usually take lemme know
ignore the getting off I-69 in Fishers, IN. Just stay on I-69. I use Fishers as a reference point since mapquest always has you go up near Chicago. This route takes 13 minutes longer than going up by Chicago, but is free.
edit> haha too early in the day. Brian's house is 24940 Beierman, NOT 24920. But you'll see all our cars and the girls on trampolines as soon as you turn on Beierman ave anyways so
Looks like I will be leaving late on the 17th or very early on the 18th now. Just checked my class schedule and my exam is @ 6pm on 6/17. So anybody from Florida or South Georgia that needs a ride, thats the new plan. I am basically setting it so that I arrive in the early evening of the 18th so that on the 19th I can drive some more, but this time to pay my last respects to Keith. I don't care how far the drive is, I've got a bottle of Admiral Nelson I need to share with him.
That doesn't matter to me, I've never been able to make it up there and I was only able to attend the memorial services in Gainesville and one a few months later here in Tallahassee at the high school we attended. I really wanted to go to the funeral, but I was in a really bad place after all that went down and in no shape to make the journey. I will be offering spots in the car to anybody else who wants to join me.
Right now I am trying to find out exactly where he is buried. I am trying to get ahold of Celcho (lost his phone number when my phone was stolen) to see if he has that info or how to get in contact with Keith's mom.
I talked to Canti last night and he raised some concerns with his car. We thought about maybe taking a train from St. Louis, but Amtrak is notoriously unpredictable in my book. I also wouldn't feel comfortable bringing my computer on there seeing how they load and unload stuff on those trains. Anyone have thoughts on the subject?
I am against it, I think Canti's car will be fine but if this particular stretch of the rails has glowing reviews it might be a good way to go.
I guess I'll be driving up on Thursday morning. I'll be there around lunch-time on Thursday. I may or may not have Sharky with me (afaik, he still hasn't decided if he's going up on Thursday with me or on Friday with Zanthian).

Most confusing road system, ever.
