Cannot boot from cd PLEASE HELP

Hi, im trying to install windows xp pro on a my friends computer because he has just bought a new hard drive. its a segate 160gb sata harddrive. ive plugged it all in and started with the cd in. it is seeing the harddrive but when i try to boot off cd it just says all this stuff .

caldera dr-dos 7.03

fat32lfn driver for dr dos version 1.1

usage : fat32.exe [-wl] [-u]
-wl-without lfn suppert
-u-unload driver

NFTS filesystem driver for dr-dos. version 1.1

then it just stops and doesnt do anything amost like its frozen...

PLEASE HELP QUICKLY!

    Sounds like you're trying to run a HD utility boot CD that you maybe burned onto CD?

    I looks like either a bad burn/CD or all the files did not get copied.

    You might try to grab or burn another CD. Be sure you download the latest utility.

    Well, ive installed using this cd before and it all worked fine, do you recon the cd could be damaged or somthing?

    What's the utility and how old is it? It could be that the CD application is out of date.

    im not sure what you mean by utility, its just a windows xp pro install cd

    Okay. I got to leave soon- but regardless, it looks like you're stalling on CD boot- it may be scratched or something. Another possibility is bad hardware-

    Does the CD boot okay with another HD?

    yep just found the problem, the cd was scratched a tiny bit, put a new frsh burn and it works... Thanks
