Smoothwall Port Forward Surprise Problems

I lost my internet connection recently and had to reboot my whole network... (smoothwall 3.0 and Windows 2000 server included)... smoothwall handles port forwarding while Windows 2000 does DNS and DHCP. I can connect to my server from my workplace using remote desktop, but both of the client machines (I use a Vista Ultimate and Windows XP Pro) that would need smoothwall's port forwarding choke. If I first connect to the server, however, then RD from the server to a client, across the LAN it works (I would assume this is b/c it doesn't need the smoothwall's port forwarding). I checked settings on the smoothwall and reboot it.

Thank you.
